Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation

Although I had done a fair bit of linguistic Anthropology at University, the work I did with the foundation put this knowledge to practical use and their ethos and capabilities blew me away. I greatly enjoyed this experience and the people and it's pushed me to seek out similar work and communities in my future work.

The opportunity afforded to me through  Aurora as an ALNF intern was very valuable and providing a keen insight how charities like ALNF successfully function through fostering relationships between remote communities and various stakeholders to facilitate meaningful change.  The most rewarding aspect was knowing that I was positively contributing to First Language revitalisation. It was a privilege to play a small part in the development of a resource that can be used to celebrate Language into the future.

My internship experience was extremely insightful and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the tasks I was assigned and the most rewarding aspect of my internship was knowing that I was actively contributing to Language revitalisation through my work.

The Aurora internship program has given me such vital practical experience. They have also allowed me to assist organisations that are doing meaningful, front-line work. It is a wonderful program
